Can you give up watching movies for the rest of your life?

Bit of a weird question right! If someone asks me this question my reaction would be NO way in hell.

Movies are a treasure only a genius can value.

Movies entertain us, they move us emotionally and mentally.

I cannot imagine my life without movies, they have been a source of comfort and imagination for me for a long time. Enough with sobbing about my love for cinema let me share the 6 wonderful movies that are worth taking time out for. So, let us begin;

Before Sunrise

Before Sunrise is the ‘perfect movie’ for people who are into having long and intellectual conversations. This 1995, drama and romance movie starring Ethan Hawk and Julie Delpy provokes a dull mind to race and ponder upon life’s most obvious existential questions. “Before Sunset” and “Before Midnight” are the other two parts of the trilogy.

When Harry Met Sally

An epic movie adored by cinema lovers over the last two decades. This movie revolves around two individuals- Harry and Sally, and how they fail to find true love. The movie is famous for satire on love, unique characters, and of course the ‘orgasm’ scene.

Piku

Piku narrates the story of a woman, played by the gorgeous Deepika Padukone, and her hate-love relationship with her father.

The weird yet cozy friendship between Piku and Rana, played by Irrfan Khan, adds charm to road trip scenes. As a viewer, I enjoy Piku every time I see it which usually happens once a month.

Eat Pray Love

The movie is based on a book and narrates the story of a woman finding her passion again in life. A broken marriage and the guilt of leaving her partner stops Elizabeth’s progress but she recovers from it by doing meditation and seva in India.

There is a scene in the movie where the main character, Elizabeth, is enjoying eating spaghetti sitting in an open restaurant alone while watching a couple making out; one of the best scenes in the entire movie.

Annie Hall

I fell in love with Diane Keaton after watching her performance in the classic- Annie Hall. This 1977 movie is a masterpiece directed by Woody Allen who himself plays the male lead, Alvy Singer.

Alvy is a struggling stand-up comedian who falls in love with Annie and soon moves in with her. The whole movie narrates the love story of both leads and how they deal with life and their love for each other. If you love classics and philosophical movies then you must watch Annie Hall!

Into the Wild

Another amazing story, Into the Wild, makes you as a viewer question life and its purpose. The main character Christopher McCandless played by Emile Hirsch goes away exploring the wild disconnecting from his family and the world. The movie beautifully shows his journey and makes you wonder is it all worth it in the end?

Bonus: Midnight in Paris

I love Owen Wilson movies usually but Midnight in Paris is an absolute favorite for a lot of reasons. Seeing great characters live fictionally on the screen such as Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dali, and Pablo Picasso is being the main.

This movie is a great Saturday night watch for the history and cinema admirer, so make sure to add this to the “must-see list”.

This is it for now but I’ll be sharing more amazing titles with you soon!
